Coffee Mornings with a Hint of Chocolate

The aroma of coffee fills the room. -professors, students, administrators -walk in and order their own specific mix. A different language is spoken -filled with fun words such as tall, vente, capacino. The chair is warm and snuggly and the cushion gently sinks as I slide in -a somehow comforting feeling, as though pleasure is found with the usedness of the chair. In homes well worn furniture is always a suretell sign of long enjoyable conversations, close relationships, and relaxation. My feet leisurely sleep on the round cushion directly in front. Hot chocolate is sipped. It's a prime hour for people watching....

a man drops his rather large fully opened umbrella outside the window. enters. orders. and sets up camp across from me- keeping a careful eye on whether any of the students are too eagerly wishing they had remembered their own umbrella this morning. papers flutter out of his briefcase. my mind wanders about what his story might be...

Sigh. As the rain pitters I remind myself that not this morning. It's not the morning to meander and watch each drop playfully chase one another down the window pane. work must be done.

essays that spur intellectual consideration, light music playing in the background. this is my atmosphere.
