There is a hole in my Sunday

As a little girl there was always one thing that I would look forward to during the week. Sunday donuts. No matter where we lived or what temperature it was outside, Sunday was always the day that the family ventured to the nearby bakeshop to get fresh donuts for breakfast before Church. Some mornings dad would have already gotten the task done early. Knowing how happy it made me, he'd wake up early, put on his boots, and get the donuts and bring them home. We'd all wakeup to the fresh smell of bakedgoods in the house. Even during the bostons blizzards mom bundled us up like snowmen with scarves from head to toe and we'd waddle and hike out to our little sunday treat. My parents weren't going to spend the entire day inside with two rambunctious little girls. Mom always said "we are an adventuresome family!"

Haven't managed to find a donut shop in Florida that I am a fan of yet. Yes, every place has dunken donuts. But when you are used to the fresh smells and scenery of the little family owned shop, no donut will taste good in comparison. Just call me a donut snob! I can tell the difference.

Probably for the better though ;) I know donuts aren't always the healthiest things to eat!

I'm a flower girl.

I love have live flowers around the house.. whether they are gerber daisies, roses, liliacs, a mixture. Anything that brings freshness and life into the house. But more then that.. I love putting them all over the house. In the bedroom. Bathroom. Kitchen. Family room. My mother gave me that trait. When we were younger and in plays and musicals every couple months we would have bouquets and bouquets... and bouquets of flowers around the house. And she was always in charge of setting them up and placing them. I would wake up the next morning and find a pretty surprise in a vase on the counter or sitting on my night stand.

While I do love flowers, I often won't buy them for myself. It's probably a cheap thing or the fact that every time I'm at the grocery store I want to make a purchase, and that if I indulge myself once I'm worried I'll indulge myself every time :)

Thank goodness I got myself a certian fiance who has great taste... in a girl and in flowers!
